The Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB) is a partner in the EUROLEGUME project and is located 30 km southeast of Oslo. 1st of January 2013, UMB merged with the Veterinary school in Oslo and formed NMBU. NMBU aim for research enabling people to tackle challenges regarding the environment, sustainable development, human and animal health, renewable energy sources, food production, land use and resource management. The mission is to contribute to the well-being of the planet and the interdisciplinary research generates innovations in food, health, environmental protection, climate and sustainable use of natural resources. NMBU have 5000 students, 1700 employees, 64 study programs, and participate in more than 30 FP7 projects in addition to INTERREG, COST and ERA-net activities.

The Department of Animal and Aquacultural Sciences (IHA) is the active partner in EUROLEGUME at NMBU. Activity leader at IHA is Dr. Egil Prestløkken. The main activity will be within WP4, concerning Nutritional value and innovative food and feed. The research at NMBU will be within Task 4.1 - Evaluation of the quality of new feed and food, Task 4.2 – Multiuse of all three species in development of innovative foods/feeds and Task 4.3 – Development of new processing and packing techniques. The research will focus on effects of processing on chemical composition and nutritive value of the legumes.
