Pūre Horticultural Research Centre Ltd. (Pūre HRC) is a small, private research institution located 90 km to the West from Riga. The main activities of Pūre HRC are aimed to find technological solutions for commercial horticulture through scientific investigations and to promote environmentally friendly and sustainable fruit and vegetable growing in Latvia. Broad scale of investigations is carried out in growing and post-harvest technologies, plant protection and breeding. Numerous collections of plant genetic resources of vegetables and fruits are maintained in Pūre.

Pūre HRC contributes to the overall project execution being involved in four work packages related with genotype evaluation, field trials, management and dissemination activities. Representative of Pūre HRC is included in the Steering Commity.

Līga Lepse, Mrs., Dr.agr. Position in the project: Team leader.
Her role in the project – planning and management of field trials, sample analyses and genotypes evaluation in WP2 and WP5; planning of dissemination activities. She leads Task 5.1. and Task 7.2. In WP2 she will perform planning and management of field evaluation of selected genotypes and biochemical analyses. In WP5 she will plan and implement the field trials in different cropping systems and perform data analysis. In the Tasks of WP7 L. Lepse will implement dissemination activities (preparing of publications, meetings, seminars, workshops and others) and leads Task 7.2.

Jānis Lepsis, Mr., Dr.agr. Position in the project: lead researcher.
His role in the project - planning and daily management of the project and field trials, performing of data analysis and dissemination actitvities. He is involved in the technical management of investigations of WP2. In WP5 he will plan daily technical management of field investiagations in different cropping systems and will perform statistical data analyses. In WP7 J. Lepsis will take part in the implementation of all dissemination activities.

Valda Laugale, Mrs., M.Sc.agr. Position in the project: researcher.
Her role in the project – daily management of field trials in different cropping systems and performing of data analysis. She will take part also in WP7, in the implementation of all dissemination activities.
